Running through a movie theater while wearing a clown mask seemed like a good idea

Blake Newton and Jamar Washington apparently ran through a Virginia Beach movie theater shouting. At least one of them was apparently wearing a mask. It’s the sort of thing that might have drawn puzzled stares a few months ago, but in the aftermath of the “Dark Knight Rises” shooting incident in Colorado this summer, it prompted theater patrons in Virginia Beach to flee in terror and call the police.

The fact that one of them was also charged with possession of marijuana might help to explain.

WAVY-TV talked to both men about the incident and their subsequent arrests.
