Star rugby player Paul Wood ruptured a testicle during Saturday’s Super League Grand Final – and played on.

The Warrington prop forward caught a knee in the groin during the second half of his team’s 26-18 defeat with Leeds.
The blow ruptured a testicle but rather than come off for treatment the father-of-two stayed on the pitch.
The long-serving Wood, who celebrates his 31st birthday on Wednesday, made no mention of the injury during the post-match interviews.
But he underwent surgery in hospital overnight and had to have the testicle removed.
He was in good spirits today though, tweeting: “Ruptured my right testicle, got a knee 1 minute into the second half, had to have it removed.”
This afternoon he added: “Just coming out the hospital to go home… Seriously feel like I’ve left something?”
Wood’s heroism matches that shown by St Helens forward Chris Flannery, an Australian forward who played for almost a full match with a torn testicle for Sydney Roosters in 2004.
