Alison Pill tweets a topless photo to her 16000 followers.

Newsroom star Alison Pill was left blushing today when she accidentally tweeted a topless photo of herself to her 16,000 Twitter followers.

The 26-year-old actress was seen lying back on her bed, arm behind her head smiling at the camera. All she wore was a pair of black spectacles.

Alison quickly admitted to posting the snap, tweeting: ‘Yep. That picture happened.

‘Ugh. My tech issues have now reached new heights, apparently.

‘How a deletion turned into a tweet… Apologies.’

But it seems her fans felt she had nothing to apologise for, with one tweeting: ‘Honestly, we didn’t mind.’

Luckily for Alison her fiance, for whom the photo was perhaps intended, was amused rather than horrified by her mistake.

Actor Jay Baruchel tweeted: “My fiancée is an hilarious dork. Smartphones will get ya.’

And he added the hashtag: ‘#imjustgladitdidnthappentomefirst.’

The Tropic Thunder actor proposed to her in December 2010 after the couple met while filming Goon in Winnipeg.

The pair, who are both Canadians, plan to marry in Quebec.

‘We’re getting married at an ice wine vineyard,’ Jay told Us Weekly earlier this year.

‘Me and the groomsmen will all be wearing kilts. I’m really excited to see all the hairy, chubby legs.’
