Couple rattled after giant snake hitches a lift under their car hood
The engine must have hissed a bit!
Marlene Swart and Leon Swanepoel watched in horror as a 16 foot python disappeared under their car in Kruger National Park, South Africa. Unable to move him, the couple drove three miles to a nearby lookout before coaxing the snake to slither away.

Snakes are elongate, legless, carnivorous reptiles of the suborder Serpentes that can be distinguished from legless lizards by their lack of eyelids and external ears. Like all squamates, snakes are ectothermic, amniote vertebrates covered in overlapping scales. ;
