Dumb is dumb: Burglar caught by police after tangling himself in window blinds during escape

A bungling criminal was halted in his attempt  to break into a college – after getting himself stuck in a set of window  blinds.

Thomas Molina had tried to break in to  Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque but was stopped on his  tracks by the unlikely obstacle.

Albuquerque Police say they had sped to the  college after receiving reports of a break-in on Sunday.

When they arrived they said Molina attempted  to make his escape, only to get stuck in the window blinds.

The 38-year-old was said to have told police  he was looking for computer hardware.

Molina was arrested and charged with burglary  and breaking and entering.

The would-be burglar is being held on a  $10,000 bond.

Reports are unclear as to whether Mr Molina  has an attorney.
